Process: I used physical heightmaps from the Kimberley region of Western Australia to design a basis for the terrain. I then formed mountains with broken, wave-like formations to show a truly heat baked landscape. What if a land could get sunburned like a person? Imagining the rocky formations as a cancerous sunburn.

Tools: Blender to sculpt, place a million shrubberies, tessellate, concept designed in Eevee and rendered in Cycles with masks for post. Photoshop to compile textures, height maps, normal-maps, and finalise the project with 3gb of post processing with raw files. Adobe Stock for the background.
